Foremost the strings of the donso n'goni are attached and tensioned in the traditional style, secured to the neck with a single piece of strong `djembe' cord. Secondly, the neck, handles and horizontal bracing are all crafted from bamboo. Each donso n'goni comes complete with a made to measure soft case, a spare set of strings, and a rattle or sékèsékè which fits atop the neck The bridge is reinforced with ebony inlay as the strings pass through. The green colour of the gourd results from a natural treatment we use.
